About

Belles & Gents

The Belles & Gents are Springtime Tallahassee ambassadors who promote the festival’s history, traditions, and community involvement throughout the year.

Who Are Belles & Gents ?

Belles & Gents are the next generation of Springtime Tallahassee and are well represented by this youth service organization.

The Belles & Gents is a service organization composed of 5th grade through high school students, including children and grandchildren of Springtime members as well as associate members who are not legacies of Springtime members.

They undergo a training period that encompasses the study of the history of our city and state, as well as instruction in poise, good grooming, and etiquette. Each year, they participate in civic, social and government activities.

Giving Back To The Community

The Belles and Gents have participated in volunteer activities for Second Harvest Food Bank, Children’s Home Society, Leonard Wesson Elementary School and the Ronald McDonald House to name just a few. Among the Belles & Gents, Miss and Mr. Springtime and Miss and Mr. Congeniality are selected from the organization’s graduating seniors. Mr. and Miss Springtime are selected on a basis of community service points, knowledge of Tallahassee and Florida history, interviews by community judges and a vote of their peers. They are announced at the annual Coronation Ball, and represent Springtime throughout the festival year’s activities.
